Meet the Executive Team

At Dion’s, we’re not only concerned with how you like your pizza, we want to know what makes you, you. To get us started, the Executive Team answers the question, “What’s Your Slice?”

Mark Herman, CEO

Whether in the office making stuff happen, or exploring the outdoors with his family, Mark is continuously on the go. After high school, Mark got a summer job at Dion’s and never left. He started his management career serving as a General Manager and then grew with the company to hold positions of Operations Manager, Vice President of Store Operations and now Chief Executive Officer.

Mark is known for his improvements to customer service and employee satisfaction while keeping costs low. He helps to build a culture of high expectations, trust, and empowerment. He is committed to maintaining Dion’s Values while growing the company and providing growth opportunities for employees.

Mark holds an Economics degree from the University of New Mexico and he is a member of Vistage and Leadership New Mexico.

Mark and his wife, Christine, have a daughter and a son.

What’s Your Slice? Playing in the mountains with my family.

What’s Your Favorite Dion’s Order? Slice of pepperoni and green chile and a half turkey salad with Granch (Ranch and Greek dressing).

Doug Morse, President

Doug never lets adventure pass him by. If he’s not in the office, he’s planning his next trip down to the lake with his family. Doug attended his first year of college at New Mexico State University before transferring to the University of New Mexico in 1981, where he began his career at Dion’s as a delivery driver. (It’s true, Dion’s delivered…what can we say, we learned a lot and changed our tune.)

Over the years, he has held various management roles at Dion’s including General Manager, Operations Manager, District Manager, VP of Corporate Operations and currently President. Doug believes success is directly related to responsible employees and managers, systems that support Dion’s staff and customers, and excellent food quality.

Doug was a Vistage member for several years and has served on the board of the Association of Commerce and Industry and the North I-25 Executive Board.

Doug and his wife, Marilyn, have two daughters.

What’s Your Slice? Riding the waves in the company of friends and family.

What’s Your Favorite Dion’s Order? 6” Turkey sub with lots of Greek dressing.

Blair Boyer, Senior Human Resources Director

Blair has some serious outdoor skills. He spends time outside the office biking on the most amazing trails around Albuquerque and beyond! Blair has been with Dion’s for seven years. Prior to joining the team, he worked as a Communications Specialist for AOL in Virginia and then as an Employment Generalist at a field office in Albuquerque. But wait, there’s more. Blair also has 17 years of experience on the operations side of the restaurant business.

He is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and Human Resource Management Association of New Mexico. Blair earned his degree in Business Administration and is PHR (Professional in Human Resources) certified.

Blair and his wife, Barbara, have a blended family of seven children and eight grandchildren.

What’s Your Slice? Cycling – Fear no road.

What’s Your Favorite Dion’s Order? Slice with Italian sausage and green chile, half tossed salad (no mix) with Thousand Island dressing and if I’ve been on a ride, a brownie with icing.

Nancy LaForest, Controller

We think Nancy has all the fun. She has three beautiful grandchildren and spends as much time as she can with them in Arizona. She has been with Dion’s for 15 years and served the company prior to that time during her role with Pulakos & Alongi as Head of Client Accounting and Controller. During tax season she also works for Schlenker & Cantwell.

Nancy attended Kirtland Community College in Michigan and Central New Mexico Community College in Albuquerque.

Nancy has two children and three grandchildren.

What’s Your Favorite Dion’s Order? Slice of Italian sausage, green chile and mushrooms.

Deena Crawley, Marketing Director

If Deena isn’t in her office, you’ll probably find her running a marathon somewhere. In fact, we think she’s the fastest gal in town. She has been in her current role for almost three years, but also worked on the operations side as a “red shirt” during an earlier stint with Dion’s. Prior to her position as Marketing Director, Deena worked in brand planning at McKee Wallwork + Company, an advertising agency in Albuquerque, for seven years.

Deena is a two-time Effie finalist and former President of the American Advertising Federation – NM. She graduated from the University of New Mexico with a degree in Business Administration. 

Deena and her husband, Travis, have two dogs, Bella and Jasper.

What’s Your Slice? Endurance running.

What’s Your Favorite Dion’s Order? Slice of pineapple, half tossed salad with Ranch dressing and if it’s a Friday, I’ll throw in a chocolate chip cookie.

Jeremy Dumas, Senior Operations Manager

Jeremy, or Dumas, as he’s known around our neck of the woods, spends his time drag racing. He started with Dion’s in 1992 and he’s our very own operations extraordinaire. Having taken on management positions such as Shift Manager, General Manager, Operations Manager, and most recently Senior Operations Manager, he knows A LOT!

Jeremy strives to make it easy to get great food in a fun, family-friendly environment while maintaining excellent cost controls.  He’s taken many leadership courses including those facilitated by Dr. Edward de Bono and Dr. Balaji Krishnamurthy. He’s also ServSafe and AllerTrain certified. In addition, he supports and helps to organize No Bull Drag Racing, which keeps members of the community active and off the streets.

Jeremy and his wife, Nicki, have two dogs, Shelby and Callaway.

What’s Your Slice? Drag racing.

What’s Your Favorite Dion’s Order? 6” Turkey and provolone sub with jalapenos and Ranch dressing and I’ll chase it down with a Dr Pepper or lemonade, depending on the day.  

Chris Moya, Director of Operations, Training & Development

When the weather is nice, you won’t find Chris driving a car; rather, he’ll be on his Harley roaring around town. Since starting with Dion’s in 1992, Chris has been integral in shaping both Operations and Training. As Vice President of Operations, he opened seven stores and developed crucial processes, which are still used today. In his role as Director of Operations, Training & Development, he oversees all aspects of operations and training, from new employee orientation to teaching General Managers.

Chris is driven by development work and has been involved with Newton Industries, Insight Leadership, and Wings. Most notable was his work with New Ventures West where he received his Integral Coaching license, which allows him to serve as a Life Coach for many of our employees. His goal is to allow humanity to drive a corporate workplace.

Chris and his wife, Amy, have two daughters.

What’s Your Favorite Dion’s Order? 6” Turkey and cheddar sub, no mustard, with chips, add jalapenos, with Ranch and Greek dressing and a half iced tea / half lemonade. More lemonade than tea please.
