2019 Dion’s Recipe Contest

Create a unique recipe using Dion’s ingredients for a chance to win stellar prizes including DION’S FOR A YEAR!

Add Ranch to a favorite family recipe, turn a dough ball into a culinary masterpiece, or get creative with any other of your favorite Dion’s ingredients. Recipes can be any kind of creation from casseroles to pasta salads, calzones to desserts. Recipes must include at least one Dion’s ingredient item.

To enter, create a recipe using any ingredient item found at Dion’s, including, but not limited to Dressings, Dough, Baguettes, Pizza Kit (dough, sauce, cheese, toppings), Cookies, Brownies, Tea, Lemonade, etc.

Entrants without a Facebook page can download this entry form and follow the included instructions for entry via email or mail.

Official Contest Rules

1. Eligibility: This Contest is open to legal U.S. residents residing in one of the 50 United States or District of Columbia. Eligible persons who won previous recipe contests held by Dion’s are eligible with a different submission from previous winning entry. Eligible persons who entered previous recipe contests held by Dion’s are eligible to reenter. Current employees (all ages) are eligible and must submit/specify employment status on entry form. Individuals 18 and under are eligible in the “youth” category with consent from a legal parent or guardian.

The contest is comprised of four categories of entry: (1) Employee – open to current employees in all markets, cannot exceed a team of two, outer market employees will be judged based on submission alone, (2) Youth – entrants 18 years and under who enter with consent of legal parent or guardian, (3) Outer market – entrants not residing within a 100-mile radius of Albuquerque, NM, and (4) General – all entrants who do not fall under categories 1-3 and live within a 100-mile radius of Albuquerque, NM.

2. How To Enter: Contest begins at 12:01 a.m. Mountain Time on June 3, 2019 and ends at 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time on August 11, 2019 (the “Deadline Date”). All entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time on the Deadline Date.

To enter, create a recipe using any ingredient item found at Dion’s, including, but not limited to Dressings, Dough, Baguettes, Pizza Kit (dough, sauce, cheese, toppings), Cookies, Brownies, Tea, Lemonade. Recipes can be any kind of creation from casseroles to pasta salads, calzones to desserts. Recipes must include at least one Dion’s ingredient item. Complete entry form found HERE. Entrants may also visit www.dions.com/community/contest to download a form to enter via email or mail. All entries must include your full name, telephone number and email address, city/state of residence, recipe instructions write-up, and photo. Youth entries must include a completed consent form from parent/guardian.

If entries do not contain all necessary information, entrant will be disqualified. Please be certain to follow all directions. Eligible persons can enter as many original recipes in this Contest as they wish. Dion’s is the official timekeeper for this Contest. In the event the Contest is entered via a mobile device, Message and Data charges may apply. All recipes must be the original work of entrant and not previously published. You may use other recipes for inspiration, but you must make your own unique ingredient and cooking instruction changes in order for the recipe to be considered. Each submitted recipe must not infringe the copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other intellectual property rights of any person or entity. All entries become the physical property of Dion’s and will not be returned.

By submitting a recipe for this Contest, you grant Dion’s unrestricted use of the submitted entry which includes the right to publish your recipe and any other information provided worldwide in all print and electronic media (now or hereafter existing) without time limitation, and the right to include your name and hometown (e.g., city and state) in connection therewith. Dion’s reserves the right to edit, modify, translate, reproduce and distribute the submitted material in any medium and in any manner as it deems appropriate.

3. Finalists Selections: A minimum of three finalists will be selected for each category. Finalists will be determined based on (1) Recipe uses acceptable Dion’s ingredient item, (2) Provides complete and required information when submitting recipe, and (3) Ingenuity, creativity, and visual presentation of recipe as determined by Dion’s. Finalists will be determined and notified on or about August 15, 2019, by phone and/or email.

4. Winner Selections: Outer market winner(s) will be selected from the finalist pool based on recipe instructions and photo, using the following criteria: Taste, Creativity, Crowd Appeal.

Entrants living within a 100-mile radius of Albuquerque, NM, who are selected as finalists will recreate their recipe and deliver prepared food to a panel of taste-tester judges between 2-5 p.m. on Thursday, August 29. Further details will be provided to finalists when notified. The winner of the Contest will be determined by judging finalist submissions based on the following criteria:

  • Taste: 25% - Does this recipe taste great with every bite? Does it have mass appeal? Would you want to make this recipe over and over again based on taste alone? Does it contain interesting, yet gratifying flavor combinations?
  • Visual Appeal: 25% - Does this recipe present beautifully on a plate or in a baking dish? Do your eyes make you want to eat this before you even smell or taste it?
  • Creativity: 25% - Is the recipe your original idea? Is the recipe reflective of unique twists to ingredient usage? Have you incorporated your personal touch to this recipe?
  • Crowd Appeal: 25% - Does your recipe appeal to others? Does the recipe have easy-to-find everyday ingredients and is it easy to make? Does the recipe have a story that will inspire others to replicate?

All entries will be judged using the criteria stated above. In the event of a tie, the highest scoring entry in the Creativity category will be the winner. All judging will be accomplished by a panel of Dion’s taste-testers. Decision of the judges is final and binding on all matters relating to this Contest. Winners will be determined and notified on or about September 3, 2019, by phone and/or email. Promotion of winning recipes will follow.

Each prize is non-transferable and cannot be substituted or assigned by the winner. All prizes are guaranteed to be awarded, assuming a sufficient number of qualifying entries is received and meet the minimum judging criteria.

Entry and/or acceptance of prize(s) constitutes permission for Dion’s to use the winner’s name, hometown (e.g., city and state) and/or likeness for advertising and trade purposes without further compensation or authorization, worldwide and in perpetuity, in any and all forms of media, now known and hereafter devised, unless prohibited by law.

6. Conditions: By entering, participants agree to be bound by these complete Official Rules and Dion’s Privacy Policy, accessible at https://www.dions.com/policies/. This contest is governed by the laws of the U.S. and New Mexico without respect to conflict of law doctrines. In any dispute, under no circumstances will participant be permitted to obtain awards for and hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, including reasonable attorneys’ fees. Dion’s will not reimburse or award any travel expenses or recipe costs. Limitation of Liability: By entering, you agree to release and hold harmless Dion’s Pizza and its partners, representatives, agents, successors, employees, officers, and directors from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, claim, or damage that may occur directly, or indirectly. This contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or affiliated with Facebook or Instagram. Dion’s reserves the right to terminate or modify the Contest at any time for any reason. In such a circumstance, all winners will be selected based on entries received to date of termination. Dion’s also reserves the right to modify this Contest in the event an insufficient number of entries are received and/or an insufficient number of entries meet the minimum judging criteria. In the event that two similar entries are received, only the entry judged to best meet criteria will be included in the final judging.
